About Wang, Xu-ya (Jelly)
a university student, I enjoyed teaching aerobic dance and Pilates. During that time, I practiced yoga just for fun sometimes. In 2011, that changed. One of my teachers invited me to participate in the first Dayal International Yoga Championship in Hong Kong where I placed 3rd in the Artistic Yoga category. In 2012, I returned to the Dayal Championships to claim 1st place in both Artistic Yoga Singles and Pairs categories. At the same time, my attitude towards yoga as a “playful practice” turned serious. In addition to practicing postures, I began to deepen my yoga knowledge through self-study and participation in various workshops as well as yoga teacher training.
In 2013, I went to Chiang Mai and Bangkok for one such training. This was my very first time to encounter aerial yoga in the form of Yoga Fly in Pilates Station Studio, a new-born yoga style in Bangkok. Through this antigravity practice, I discovered that aerial yoga could be another available way to assist yogic development on the ground. To seek more specialized and professional teaching, I went to the OM FACTORY School of Aerial Yoga Teacher Training in New York in 2014 to earn my qualification as an aerial yoga instructor. I was the very first instructor to bring the practice to Taiwan.

In 2015, I embarked on a new journey to become an international yoga therapist, and was accredited by Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) in 2017, again introducing a new practice to my country. Since then, my opportunities to reach out either in individual cases or by founding groups to address such issues as chronic pain, trauma, cancer, senior mobility and so on, to help and support people to embrace their lives patiently and gradually.
In 2018, after much coordination and communication, my colleague and I invited Michael Lee, the founder of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, to open a new therapeutic chapter in Taiwan. It was a new milestone in the yoga field, as well as an enormous personal pleasure. Furthermore, in 2019, I was approved by Michael to join his PRYT Mentor team where I continue to follow Michael’s lead and to learn with other experienced yoga therapists.
In January 2022, I was officially certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists, the ultimate accreditation for yoga therapists. From now on, I will deliver extensive knowledge and comprehensive views established through practical scientific research with my native language – Mandarin. I am assisting in fields related to health care through yoga, the ancient wisdom. I look forward to broadening the availability of yoga therapy and accompanying people to rebuild their own wellness.
Acting yoga in life; merging yoga in life. Choosing your own yoga path to shine your life.
